YouTube celeb Tom Scott explains in very simple language why 64-bit iPhones (and not older 32-bit models!) are affected by the 1 Jan 1970 bug that can brick them. See the video below.

It’s an integer underflow, caused by attempting to take 1 away from 0. As if you didn’t already know. But Tom explains much better in everyday language.
