It's the wrong sad face! How to fix seeing the wrong sad face emoji on iPhone/iPad
2 November 2015, 04:31
The screenshot above says it all. There’s a bug in iOS9 wherein using the sad face emoji inserts a basic font-based sad-face icon, rather than a colourful emoji.
The fix is to scroll right on the emoji keyboard to the Smileys & People section, and select the sad-face emoji there instead. DON’T select it from the Frequently Used listing. That’ll cause the wrong one to appear.
