Linked to today’s earlier posting about fixing Siri’s apparent hearing difficulties is the fact that some people report the “Hey Siri“ feature, whereby Siri can be summoned without pressing a button, isn’t working too well.
Try this: Go back into the Settings app, tap General > Siri, and tap the Allow Hey Siri switch TWICE, so that you turn it off and then on again. You’ll be prompted once again to teach it your voice. Follow the instructions but this time hold the phone literally at an arm’s length – like it’s a book and you’re a bit short-sighted.
From anecdotal reports this allows Siri to get a better handle on your voice, and will therefore improve Hey Siri detection. Give it a try!
